I've been sick (Yes again), I've been tired out (close to a burn-out which is most likely the cause for my being sick) and I've been finishing the scraproom...

Oh Boy! Have I been a slop or what... Leaving you without any posts for so long... WELL TOO BAD! I have a life too (I think - if my wife let's me)...

Well, I've been very busy! Working long days and all... Even had to work on Saturday, as I live closest... Had to attend only (and still get paid)!

How was your weekend?

I compensated the hours with a day off (TODAY) to get some more work done in the SCRAPROOM... I'm nearing completion (and than she'll have to do the rest - like painting and so on)!!!

So I'm leaving you with this quick remark:

Does your wife also keep reffering to this and that woman and her techniques and beautiful work? And once that woman writes an entire book (well... it's more like a collection of layouts with extended journaling) she can't wait to get her hands on a copy...

Xmas every day...

My wife thinks it's Xmas every day! She even acts surprised every time she receives a box filled with scrapbook stuff... Why act surprised if it's the same stuff you ordered??? And like Xmas boxes with or without content are to be found all throughout the livingroom... And like Xmas guess who has to throw out the empty boxes???

How many tools does one scrapbooking wife need to cut paper?
I know you're thinking: "1... Sciccors!!!"

NO!

Off course not! Your scrapbooking wife needs at least a dozen different sciccors... big or small, green or red, twisted or straight... It doesn't matter as long as they are different! And knifes... lots of knifes!!!

Then she also needs APPARATUSES! (I had to browse the internet to do research on this one...) It all starts out with Quickutz, SideKick, Zip E Mate, the BigKick, the Sizzix machine, the Cuttlebug, Xyron (all 1000 models of them), Provocraft cricut and then where does it stop...

SO PLEASE STOP SAYING WE ARE THE ONES THAT NEED TO HAVE TOOLS!!!

Speaking about LETTING WOMEN HANDLE TOOLS...
This is what happened to a friend a mine a couple of weeks ago:
His wife calls him at work and tells him she has a "minor" issue with the car...
So he asks: "The car? Are you OK?"
She replies: "Yeah I'm fine, but I think there's water in the carburetter..."
He frowns and asks: "Water in the carburetter? I thought it was much worse! But... since when do you know mechanics?"
And then she replies: "Well... I'm not really sure but..."

NOW YOU KNOW WHY I AM NOT LETTING HER HELP IN THE SCRAPROOM!

(and why it is still not finished... But hey, it's reaching completion!!!)

Awards...

Did you know that women can actually win prices (besides RAK's) for their "work"? They can send in their layouts to be judged and maybe even win 15 minutes of fame in return...

I was gonna say something witty about this, but it's very quiet ever since February 12th on Creating Keepsakes' award site...

Still curious? Is there also a "Lifetime Achievement Award" available? Or better... "The HB" award! The award for the most suffering, most giving in Husband... Or the least spending wife!

I'll take votes!!! (just on the HB-awards, as the part where they convince us on their spending is so blurry... I AM DOING MY WIFE'S BOOKKEEPING, SO I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT)!!!

As for the scraproom... My wife planned to be off all of Saturday, which leaves me with 2 kids, schoolyard-sale, Flea-market & a birthday party! As for Sunday she already planned a visit to her brother, but came back on it as she wants me to finish the room... So I might be spending some time there (again...).

Anyway! Enjoy your weekend, make sure you get loads & loads of rest... Next week may be totally different...

Taxes

We all have to pay taxes... although some do not, but according to the law, we must!

If you only work for a company, there's no biggie... But if you own a company (no matter how small), you need to pay VAT, Income taxes and probably some more...

You need to keep track of all the payments made and save all the receipts... Can you guess what my wife does? SHE LITERALLY SAVES ALL RECEIPTS!!! Even the ones that came with the bread we bought over 2 years ago...

So we (yeah WE really) did a lot of sorting yesterday... All we have to do now is glue receipts on paper!

THE IDEAL WAY FOR SCRAPBOOKERS TO DO THEIR TAXES!!!

Let's hope this all pays back...

You would think she has it all!

There is always stuff she doesn't have yet...

Or worse... Disappointed!

Weekend & Customs

How was your weekend? Did your wife bother you with any nignags? As said before, mine was off for 2 days... so I had a perfect weekend... Me and the boys have been cocooning all weekend! Had Patat, Pancakes & Pizza for dinner, Chips & Tosti's for lunch & cookies & candy for breakfast!!! Watched loads of TV (Nickelodeon), played all the online-games we could find & even some Gameboy-stuff...

Although most of you will probably never have to experience trouble with customs, here's a little something on how to fool them... If you have a supplier that wants to "work" with you they will lie on the commercial value of the goods... However, if they do not want to "help out", they will fill in the actual value and you'll have to pay the whole impot-duty and VAT-amount... Which will reflect on the price!

I'm not saying I'll be the one with the hat!

LYSAFAW means Leave Your Spouces Alone For Another Weekend! Yep you guessed it: ANOTHER RETREAT!!!

Curious what it is and what they do? H2G2 (BBC) has a page that explains it all!

As if scrapping at home, with friends or a whole day with the DT isn't enough, she is off for the whole weekend to do some more scrapping!!! Can you even start to imaging how much stuff she will be bringing back? It's called Wacky Workshop Weekend for an apparent reason...

For me and the boys, weekends like these are called 3P-weekends: the 3P stands for 3 major foodgroups we will be eating!!!
- Patat (French Fries)
- Pizza
- Pancakes

We will be sitting on the couch in our PJ's, watching loads of TV, while enjoying huge sacks of Chips, burp as loud as we want (without apologizing), no shaving (for me that is), playing Xbox-games (or Vtech) as long as we want to... And let's not forget:

PITY OURSELVES AS WE ARE ABANDONED AGAIN!!!

Give stuff away

I always thought that scrapbooking women were all about collecting, need-to-haves, gimmegimmegimme's...

And then all of a sudden one of them starts a R.A.K....

What they describe as a Random Act of Kindness: she has a couple of thingies to give away... (or does she have a husband with a backbone that makes her give her stuff away?)

AND THEN THE MUST HAVE, GREEDY, "I CAN USE ANYTHING" ATTITUDE KICKS BACK IN!!!

I knew I couldn't be that wrong...
