45 seconds of Ecstacy

She got me to go to a concert of Meat Loaf... You know the one... Big, Sweaty, Loud... As he is almost 61 already, I wanted to see one of his shows before he quits, so I agreed to tag along. BAD MOVE!


I should have just kept to my cd's... Maybe watch a videoclip of "Paradise"... But noooooH, I had to go out and see him!!!!


He stood there on stage like he was autistic, drunk or high, never once sang on cue, made words without using any vowels, which he made up entire songs with... And then the sounds that came out of his throat... I GOT PROOF!!! HERE!!!


The band was good... Not great, but good. You cannot play all songs like extended (12") versions on a slow beat so the singer can keep up. They should however be rewarded a medal for being on the same stage, while trying to put up a show... The same goes for the singers: at least they did what they were paid to do...


I made some new lyrics to "45 seconds of Ecstacy":

Gotta mail today from MOJO concerning my complaint:

Looking at the wheater reports for the last couple o' days, gets me thinkin' bout BBQ... But there's always this hustle and all that makes the BBQ a lot of work...

1. MAN gets BBQ & coals from the shed
2. WOMAN cleans grill of BBQ
3. WOMAN goes to the greengrocer
4. WOMAN goes to the butcher.
5. WOMAN goes to the bakery.
6. WOMAN prepares salads and vegetables.
7. WOMAN prepares the different meats.
8. WOMAN puts all meat on a diss together with all other BBQ necessities, such as herbs etc.
9. WOMAN brings cleaned grill and dish to MAN, who stands there waiting while holding a beer.
10. MAN puts meat on the BBQ 1 by 1.
11. WOMAN sets table.
12. WOMAN checks vegetables she is cooking.
13. WOMAN prepares dessert.
14. WOMAN comes outside to tell MAN the meat on the BBQ is burning.
15. MAN takes burned meat off the BBQ and gives it (on a dish) to the WOMAN.
16. WOMAN takes plates and brings out the tableware.
17. MAN pours drinks.
18. WOMAN cleans table and makes coffee.
19. WOMAN serves coffee and dessert.
20. WOMAN cleans table again.
21. WOMAN does dishes and cleans kitchen.
22. MAN leaves BBQ be, there are still some coals burning.
23. MAN asks WOMAN wheter she is happy she did not have to cook today.
24. MAN sees WOMAN looking flabbergasted and concludes:

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE WOMEN...

Tools

As this is the summer holiday season, loads of pictures will be taken, some good some bad...

And for those that ain't exactly perfect, you need tools... For any hobby, as we men know!

But what happens when you let housewifes get busy with photographs that need (minor) corrections? Like the eyes.. They immediate grab a red-eye pen and...

Holidays

We are OFF! We will be in EuroDisney for 5 (yes you read it fine - FIVE) days... But neither she nor me have a problem with that except for the prices of food and drinks in the park...

But it's a holiday so we will not loose our good spirit over an OVERPRICED bottle of water!

So everyone have a good one! We'll be back before you know it...

Scrapbook Attention Deficit Disorder

Symptoms:

• You get to the car to go to the scrapbook store, but you look at the car and decide that the car needs to be washed, so you go back to the house to get a bucket of water and soap
• Upon entering the house you see the mail on the floor
• Ok, you will get the water, but first lets sort out the post
• You put the carkeys on your desk, sort the leaflets from the post and see that the wastebasket is full
• So you put the remainders of the post (including some bills) on your desk and take out the trash
• Oh No ! first let's pay those bills...
• Where are those tranfer-forms?
• O....K.... Only 1 left....
• AH! The spare forms are in the top draw upstairs!
• He, your Coke is still standing there on the desk...
• First get those spare forms.
• Just to be on the save side lets put that glass away from the computer before knocking it over the keyboard...
• You know, let's put the glass in the fridge to keep it fresh
• You walk into the kitchen and notice the plants are rather dry, they need water desperately
• You place your glass of Coke on the sink, and guess what... there are you sunglasses!!!
• You have been searching for them all morning!
• Let's put them away before you forget
• Fill up the watering can and head for the flower pots
• Aaaargh!Someone left the TV-remote in the kitchen.When you will be watching TV tonight, no one will be checking the kitchen, so you will bring it to the living room at once!
• You pour some water on the plants, spill on the floor, drop the remote on a pillow of the chair and head back to the hallway.

What where you doing???

At the end of the day:

The car is not washed, the bills have not been paid, the glass of Coke is still out on the sink, the flower never got enough water, you still have only 1 tranfer form and you cannot find your carkeys....

You are trying to figure out why nothing happened today.

You have no clue, you were busy all day!

You are aware that you have a serious problem and need professional help soon, but first you come and check my blog...
And here you read this message, and you sigh in recognition...

B.U.B.B.A.H. (Before Unpacking Best Be At Home)

Don't stop scrapping...

Oh yeah it's been a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long weekend... Like 2 months! But I've been very busy with... (lemme think for a minute) ... Oh yeah! When you turn a certain age, you tend to forget some things. I turned 40 in April (I know I told you a little white lie last year). And she threw me a great party! With lots of friends, food (Home-made by her!) and music! One of my friends brought his Final-scratch, so we had to dust-off the turntables and all... Thanks dear!

What else been keeping me busy? Peanuts! The new Baseball season started end of March, so the weekends are now filled with Games! Colin wanted to join as well, so he now is a "Little Bandit". And 2 kids in 2 teams means 2 days during the weekend to go to the ballpark! Not all weekends, but some Michael even played in both teams... Last year my dad assisted me with the Peanuts, but this year he has his own team; the second coach of that team can't always make it to the training or games, so I am the substitute coach... And ofcourse I like to just watch the 1st team, who is in 1st position now (even after the bench clearing brawl of 2 weeks ago).

And the most positive side of games during the weekend is that whenever she has a bridal-shower-scrap-thingie, I have an excuse to not stick around! For example next Saturday she has an "Open House" with makes-and-takes, Meet-and-Greet with the Designteam and ofcourse reduced prices; Memorylane Scrapbooking exists 3 years and that calls for a small celibration! Hopefully she sells all that stuff, otherwise she might quit... And what will she be doing next?

If she ever thinks about a different carriere, it best not be singing... I know, it ain't polite to tell, but she better keeps her singing to herself under the shower!

Long Weekend

As most of you I am of today (Good Friday - isn't that suppose to be every Friday??), so this post is like "really early"... right?

And to make this Friday a really good Friday, I found this here movie...



Tomorrow we are going to join a whole lotta Peanuts for a tournament in Haarlem, if the weather is gettin' a bit better... Overhere it is raining and snowing... So we'll just have to see what tomorrow brings.

Another weekend

Another workshop!

This time I had to move the entire shop to Utrecht to make the stuff available for the Scrap-a-licious weekend scrap...

First had to drop off the nighties at some shabby sleep-in, that was still run by the same hippies that spent the nights over there in the seventies... Even smell the pot when walking back out in the street!!!

Met some of the people that are going to be there for a couple of days... Nice meeting you ladies!

Then we had to drive all the way 'round the centre to get to the place of the workshops. When driving it takes 20 minutes... When walking it takes 7 minutes MAX!!!

I hope they have fun; I know I am enjoying the fact that the "store"-room is almost EMPTY!!! I took this picture to cherish the magic moment...

Rolemodel...

Everyone raise your hands who ever thought of me as being a rolemodel?

NO-ONE?!?!

'course I thought so, but since I am a coach to the Peanuts, I am...

Last Friday (rain was pouring down-cold) I was biking home and got to the trafficlights, when I saw that no cars were coming... So I crossed (RED LIGHT)... No big deal???

Saturday was Peanut-practice. Upon entering the hall (we practice inside for a couple of weeks) 2 kids with mother jump on me and started asking me why did I cross the red lights???

WAY BIG DEAL!!!

How am I to explain this??? I guess cookies & candy will have to do the trick...

And talking 'bout sweets...

Remember I wanted to cheer her up with... whatever...

Over the weekend I received an invite to PRE-view "Definitely, Maybe" - a Chick Flick - so I asked her what she had planned for Monday evening...

She came home with a smile on her face! Hope I made her feel a bit better...

New banner

So how y'all like my new banner? Made it from "scrap"... Which is not intended to be funny, but almost looked like I was scrappin'... Now wouldn't that be a joke!!!

On the new tip, Imma also revivin' the Scrappers with Crocs blog, had some mails (YES THEY DO IT TO THEMSELVES) requesting to show their Crocs...

This time I do not wanna complain about her and her scrap-thingies, I wanna make her feel (a bit) better... She doing so much that she hardly gets everything done that needs to be done!

She's got:

• a regular job @ a school
• an online scrapbook store
• workshops @ home
• workshop weekend planned
• workshops to attend to (for her own pleasure)
• a designteam of 7 (or 8) to keep busy and the other way around
• multiple home-improvements planned (WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ME THIS TIME!)
• 2 small children who tend not to listen to whatever she says
• 1 lazy husband who hates doing DIY...
• 1 blog (for the designteam) to regulate
• 1 blog (for her own pleasure) to fill
• 1 blog for kid#1 to fill with pictures and stories
• 1 blog for kid#2 to start with pictures and stuff...

Now wouldn't it be nice to have something to stream that workflow??? Just a little program to help her sort things out??? There is this here competition to win just that: a task manager program!!!

Now that I've got that outta my system... Have a great weekend...

Party Update and fun stuff...

I know, I know...

It's been way too long since i've updated you, but I am a busy man (ask my wife-she keeps me busy)...

Party Update: the party was cool; The Gibson brothers (who doesn't remember them?) - could also be reffered to as Gibson Grandpa & family... did their greatest hits IN EXTENDED VERSIONS (otherwise it would never be a show of 45 minutes)!!! Then came Ben "Grandmix" Liebrand to entertain the unleashed, before the house-diva of the 90's ROBIN S. came on stage to sing her big hit (like three times)... After which Ben Liebrand came back to spin some more Michael Jackson songs (AND I MEAN THAT THERE ARE REALLY REALLY MANY)... So around 1.30 AM I heard enuff MJ to last a lifetime and I decide it was time for us to leave!

Dancing the night away...

Remember a couple of weeks ago I told you I won some price on Radio Veronica?

Well, this weekend we (she & I) are ditching the kids at her Mom's to do the dance-part!
As I do not go out as often as I did before, I needed to get the latest moves from the "Net"...

Survivor

Oke, we survived the B'day party... BARELY!!! But now can we can kick up our feet and relax... For a couple of days 'till the party Part II begins!

It was fun; they played Pin The Donkey (Picachu), where one even commented that I did a nice job drawing... After that we let Michael unpack pressies by busting balloons with a picture inside matching the picture on the pressies. Then they had a cool-down coloring their bingo cards, after which we actually played bingo... If one had a full card he/she could pick a little prize!

And then it was time to watch a movie (Pokemon of course!) but the kids decided otherwise... The sun was shining, thus they wanted to play outside! And then the rain begins to fall (FLASHBACK). Luckely they wanted to remain outdoors... After half an hour they came back in to play some Wii... Had a drink and I brought them home!

Then my fooks came over (it is still a wednesday); so we had a nice dinner and after the boyz are off to bed we had a QUIET cup of tea and coffee...

And then I finally came across the one I was waiting for:
I was approached late last year to help Julia McKinnell (a Canadian journalist) with her piece about scrapbooking... HERE IT IS!!!

7!

7 years old is my (our) oldest son today... Man did those years fly by or what...

We are doing a Pokemon-theme to the party tomorrow, and although she is the one giving the workshop, I am the one that gots to do the DIY-stuff...

She tought it would be fun to do the "Pin the donkey" on a Picachu... But she is not a real draw-person; which leaves me to do the drawing and painting... Took me the better part of the night, but it is for a good cause!!! I know he will love it!!!

Ca$h In The Attic

Ever heard of the BBC (UK) program "Cash In The Attic"? People need money for a project (like a daughter's weddingdress or driver's license), that needs to be found in no longer used objects stored (for example) in the attic... Which is later on auctioned...

Now as you know my wife always needs money to buy new scrapbook supplies, hardware or whatever can be found in scrapbook stores or wholesellers...

Guess what I found during clearing out the attic???


I wonder how long this "stash" is gonna last...
